The Department of Residential Facilities is responsible
for providing or arranging for routine and emergency maintenance
and housekeeping services in College Park's residence halls.
We have 45 buildings and community centers with just under 2
million square feet of space. During the next year, you will
likely have contact with staff from our department's five main
units: our x4-WORK Service Center staff
(who you call to report problems), Building Services
(housekeeping, urban biology, and recycling programs), Facilities
Maintenance sections (maintenance and carpentry service,
plumbing and electric repairs, temperature management, furniture
repair, interior painting and more), our Access Systems
staff (install and maintain card access system hardware), or
our Project Management staff (building renovations, grounds
development).
Residential Facilities staff also care for the Campus Recreation
Center, Ritchie Coliseum, the Golf Course Clubhouse, and all
renovated chapter houses on Fraternity/Sorority Row.
With nearly 95% of the work you request completed by our own
Residential Facilities staff, you receive your principle services
from a staff assigned solely to maintain on-campus residence
halls. Our staff has been trained to try to understand and
know what your needs are and how to better serve you. |
